Abstract

The objectives of this study is to know the antigenicity of R. tetragona againts anti-R. echinobothrida serum by Western blot technique. This study divided into three steps. First step of this study was intestinal dissection of infected chickens to collect adult worms then identified on the gross morphology and stained by Carmine. Each spesies of worms grinded and suspended separately to make whole worm extract (WWE) then continued by sonication for 60 second 20 times and centrifuged by 5000 rpm for 15 minutes to get the homogenized R. tetragona and R. echinobothrida. Second was analyze the protein by SDS-PAGE stained by coomassie brilliant blue. Third was detect the cross-reaction of R. tetragona against anti-R._echinobothrida serum by Western blot technique. The results of this study, cross-reactions of antigen R. tetragona against antibody anti-R._echinobothrida occurs in 141.8, 131.8, 101.4, 70.6, 68.8, 54.6, 53.8, 44.6, and 12.9 kDa of MW.
