Abstract

The aims of this study was to know the effect of giving garlic (Allium sativum) squeeze with 0.5%, 1.5%, 5% and 15% of concentration on total and differential counting leucocytes of broilers infected by Escherichia coli. Thirty broiler divided into six groups (n=5) of experiments, that were P0-, P1, P2, P3, P4 and P0+. All group of experiments, except P0-, infected by Escherichia coli 108 CFU/mL orally given for three days. P1, P2, P3 and P4 got garlic squeeze therapy with 0.5%, 1.5%,5% and 15% of concentration for seven days, while P0+ as positive control without garlic squeeze therapy. Data was analyzed with Anova (Analysis of Variant) and continued by Duncan Multiple Range Test. The result of the research showed there were significant difference (p<0.05) within the number of total leucocytes, eosinophiles, lymphocytes and monocytes and there was no significant difference (p>0.05) on the number of heterophiles. In conclusion, giving garlic squeeze therapy with 1.5% of concentration decreased the total leucocytes, eosinophiles, heterophiles and monocytes of broilers infected by Escherichia coli approach to the normal control value, while the lymphocytes of broilers infected by Escherichia coli decreased approach to the normal control value by giving garlic squueze therapy with 0.5% of concentration.
