Abstract

This study aimed to know the difference between PFH heifer which experiencing early weaning period (3 months) weight with the normal weaning period (5-6 months) PFH cattle weight. The study had done by using direct weight scaling method, chest diameter, and body length of 30 PFH cattle which experiencing early weaning period and 30 PFH cattle which have normal weaning period. Then the obtained data were calculated using SCHOORL formula and Body Length Modification formula. Result showed that there were significant difference between early weaning period PFH heifer with the normal one, whether using the digital scaling or the SCHOORL and Length Modification formula. The most accurate cattle weight scaling calculation which was closer to the real scaling was the calculation with SCHOORL formula.
