Abstract
The purposes of this research was to know the effect of giving some diet protein which influenced the productivity and the hatchability of Bali Starling (Leucopsar rothschildi) in Safari Bird Farm, Kudu, Kertosono, Nganjuk, East Java from August until December 2014. The research was conducted by using descriptive method with four treatments and three replications. The experiment animals were twelve pairs of Bali Starling (Leucopsar rothschildi), divided into P1: Chirpy birds feed containing 16% of protein, P2: 17% protein, P3: 18% protein and P4: 19% protein (combinations of Gryllus mitratus, Oecophylla smaragdina’s egg, Musa acuminata balbisiana, Zea mays, Arachis Hypogaea, Glycine max, Vigna radiate and fish powder) measured with coba-coba methode Setyono and Pearson square. The diet made in ex-laboratorium Makanan Ternak Fakulas Kedokteran Hewan Universitas Airlangga, Surabaya. The result showed P3: 19% protein had better result for productivity and hatchability of Bali Starling (Leucopsar rothschildi). This results can improve feeding management in Bali Starling (Leucopsar rothschildi) captive ex-situ conservation to improve population in captive ex-situ conservation and Bali Starling (Leucopsar rothschildi) in nature.
