Abstract
Since the first outbreak of AI-H5 in 2003 Spreads in Indonesia, thhe disease is now becoming endemic in 31 out of 33 provinces. It suggests that is caused by the diversity of HA due to the antigenic drift among AI-H5 viruses circulate in Indonesia that could not be protected by vaccination program. The purpose of this study is to know the reactivities of hemagglutinin of chicken sera after vaccination with five commercial H5-vaccines which were three H5N2 and one of H5N1 and H5N9 against ten AI-H5 virus isolat of isolated from chicken in Surabaya. HI test was performed to know the cross reactivities of post AI-vaccination sera against AI-H5 virus isolates inthe study. The differences HI-titer among AI-H5 virus isolates from Surabaya showed that there were differences among them. We detected also the difference of H5-titer among various sera of AI-H5 vaccines used in the study. Due to the hemagglutinin diversity, multivalent AI-vaccine content of two or more seed virus must be considered.
