Abstract

This research was conducted to observe the effect of application on different doses Citrus nobilis Lour. peels water fraction to male mice on the number of mice pups (Mus musculus). In the previous research, reported that hesperidin of Citrus nobilis Lour. peels. has the antifertility activity to reduce hyaluronidase enzyme that produced by sperm. The research used 24 male mice ± 6 months old and 24 female mice ± 3 months old were used as the experimental animals. The male mice were randomly divided into 4 treatment group which one group consists of 6 samples. In this study, the water fraction of Citrus nobilis Lour. peels was given with doses : 40 mg/kg BW, 60 mg/kg BW, and 80 mg/kg BW per oral daily to male mice for 1 time of their spermatogenesis cycle (35 days). At control given aquadest without Citrus nobilis Lour. peels water fraction. Then the treated male mice will be mated with female mice which given superovulation. This research used the Complete Random Device type. The analysis data used Kruskal Wallis test and was continued with the test of Mann-Whitney to know the best treatment. The result of this research showed an extremely actual difference (p<0,01) between control and treatment (P1, P2, and P3). It means that Citrus nobilis Lour. peels water fraction had a strong effect to reduce the number of mice pups (Mus musculus) in the female mice.
