Abstract
Virus subtype H5N1 of Avian influenza was Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) that infected animals and human and showed disturbances in all organs (multi-organ), included the reproductive organs. The aim of this study was proved that the infection H5N1 virus in long tail monkey (Macaca fascicularis) could be reduced the percentage of sperm motility and life. Experimental animal used was a 8 years old male long tail monkey (Macaca fascicularis). Before infected by H5N1 virus, spermatozoa were collected using electroejaculator then counted to determine the sperm motility and life. The sperm was re-examinated after four days being infected. The data obtained was analyzed using T-test to compare the result before and after infection. The result of this study showed that there’s a significantly difference between before and after result of sperm motility and life percentage. This study’s result showed that sperm motility and life were reducing after being infected.
