Abstract

Pregnancy diagnosis is an important part in reproduction management of ruminant. The aims of this research is to study the differences of milk quantity and quality in first trimester pregnancy and second trimester pregnancy of cows based of milk volume, protein, fat, absolute specific gravity, dry matter and dry matter without fat in local Friesien Holstein cows. A total of thirty dairy cows used in this study, then divided into two treatments namely fifteen dairy cows in first trimester of pregnancy and fifteen dairy cows in second trimester of pregnancy. During the seven days of study, dairy cows given the same feed that is in the form of forages and concentrates with a ratio of 40 kg of forages/day and 5 kg of concentrates/day. The milk is taken and tested quantity and quality. The data have been collected and analyzed using the t-test method using SPSS of the computer software program. The result showed no significant difference in each treatment (p>0,05) in determining the milk quantity and quality of dairy cows.
