Abstract

The present study was designed to evaluate the role of Black cumin in reducing blood glucose in inject diabetic rats. Twenty five male rats (Rattus norvegicus) with 100–150 gram an average weight and two - three months of age were used in this study. This rat were adapted for seven days and divided into five group of treatment, P0;P1;P2;P3;P4 and P5. Treatment on group P0 as control negative; P1 were injected by alloxan 150 mg/kg body weights as positive control of diabetic type 1. P2 was injected by alloxan 150 mg/kg body weights and extracts black cumin 5 mg/kg body weights by intraperitoneal, P3 was injected by alloxan 150 mg/kg body weights and extracts black cumin 10 mg/kg body weights by intraperitoneal, and P4 was injected by alloxan 150 mg/kg body weights and extract black cumin 15 mg/kg body weights by intraperitoneal. The result showed that extract black cumin can reduce cell Langerhans damage in rat (Rattus norvegicus) eksperimentally diabetes mellitus type 1. This showed the use of black cumin as the cure for diabetic type 1 is very good and effective.
