Abstract

Research has been done on the effects of a combination of ketamine and acepromazine intramuscularly and subcutaneously way toward onset of action and duration of action of drugs on the White-headed Munia bird (Lonchura maja). In this study used 36 White-headed Munia birds (Lonchura maja) which theirs average weight are 20 grams and they are given with two treatments. The first treatment is that they are injected with a dose 25mg/kgBW combination of ketamine and acepromazine at a dose of 0.05 mg / kg intramuscularly and a second treatment is that they are injected with dose 50mg/kgBW combination of ketamine and acepromazine at a dose of 0.1 mg / kg subcutaneously. The experimental results are tabulated, used t test with significant level of 5% to compare onset of action and duration of action of the two treatments.Results of t test are indicating a significant difference (t tabel 0.05 < t count) toward the onset of action and duration of action of combination of ketamine-acepromazine intramuscularly and subcutaneously.
