Abstract

This study was aimed to determine the effect ofMeniran (Phyllanthusniruri, Linn.) in increasing the number of total leukocytes and leukocyte counts of Eimeriatenellainfected broiler. The study used 28 broiler chickens without feeding with coccidiostat which was divided into 4 treatments with each group containing seven chickens. As a negative control was group A, group B was positive control, group C was givenMeniransimplicia at 21 days and to than chickens were also infected by Eimeriatenellaoocysts at the age of 24 days with a dose of 5000 oocystsper head. Group D was given with the provision of Meniransimplicia and Eimeriatenella infection in chickens aged 24 days with the same doses. Giving Meniransimplicia was done everyday orally. Blood sampling was done in 5 days afterEimeriatenella infections. Data wereanalyzed using ANOVA then followedLSD Test. The results proved there was increasing in the number of total of leukocytes and differential leukocytes particularly lymphocyte and hererophile of Eimeriatenella infected broiler.
