Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the cross-reaction between proteins Moniezia benedeni with anti-Toxocara vitulorum serum and determine the specific and non specific molecular weight proteins from Moniezia spp. as an initial step for the development of Toxocariasis diagnostic . Moniezia benedeni taken from small intestine cattle affected Monieziasis. WWE proteins derived from adult worm scours. Toxocara vitulorum collected from calf Toxocariasis patients. L2 eggs obtained from adult worm scours and incubated at room temperature with PBS medium for 21-28 days eggs L2 were infected in mouse to obtain anti-T. vitulorum serum. Moniezia benedeni antigen then reacted with serum anti-T. vitulorum by Western blot. The results of Western Blot showed that cross-reaction between the Moniezia benedeni with anti- T. vitulorum serum in a proteins with a molecular weight of 240: 206 ; 69 : 63 ; 46 ; 45 ; 44 ; 42 ; 38 ; 34 ; 32 ; 11 dan 9 kDa.
