Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of soybean meal in the ration formulation to caecum injury as well as changes in the number of goblet cells were exposed to the broiler caecal coccidiosis. Twenty strains of broiler chickens 15 days old CP 707 were randomized into 4 treatment groups. P0 were fed basal and not infected oocysts. P1 fed basal added with 35% soybean meal and not infected by oocysts.P2 were fed basal and infected. P3 were fed basal added 35% soy flour and infected.Data obtained from the injury score was analyzed by Kruskall Wallis test followed by Mann-Whitney test, while the goblet cell count data were analyzed by ANOVA. The results showed that soybean meal can not reduce the injury score of the cecum (p>0.05) and had no effect on the increasing number of goblet cells (p> 0.05) broiler cecum exposed to coccidiosis.
