Abstract

A lot of benefit from the stem extract of Cissus quadrangularis such as calcium, phosphor and phytoesterogen which have function to help the regeneration of the fracture bone. The purpose of this research is to know the effect from the stem extract of Cissus quadrangularis as medicine of pasca repotition of the fracture of the femur bone toward the function of kidney by blood urea nitrogen and creatinine in male Rattus norvegicus. This experiment used 18 male rats, randomly divided into three different treatment and six replicates for each treatment. The control group (P0) was treated with aquadest. The CaCO3 group (P1) was treated with CaCO3 150 mg/day, per oral. The Cq group (P2) was treated with the stem extract of Cq 500mg/day, per oral. This research was analyzed using Completely Randomized Design and continued with F Test. Data analysis is using SPSS 17 for windows. The Results showed that there were no significant differences of the blood urea nitrogen levels and the creatinine level in the third treatment groups (p <0.05).
