Abstract

This study aims to determine the prevalence and infection disease of Moniezia sp. worm infection in the gastrointestinal limousine calf males and females in the District Jatibanteng, Situbondo. The research was conducted in August - September 2013, with 50 samples of stool examination of the five villages, namely Patemon, Jatibanteng, Wringin Anom, Curahsuri, and Sumber Anyar were then examined at the laboratory of the Department of Parasitology. On examination found worm eggs rectangular shaped hexagonal. Results showed the prevalence of Moniezia sp. worms in the digestive tract by 20 % earned 14 % of the male and 6% of female gender in the five villages. Thus obtained Chi-Square test results 1,0. In the calculation of worm eggs per gram of feces obtained Moniezia sp egg counts ranged from 0 - 300 and has a mild infection. Based on the test T gained an average of 115,71 ± 82,028 sex male and 200,00 ± 91,652 sex female. Statistical analysis using Chi-Square test and Independent T-test showed no significant difference in the prevalence and infection disease Limousin calf males and females 0,251 (P > 0,05).
