Abstract

This research is aimed to know liver histopathology repair on white male rats after bile duct ligation with application of pomegranate extract. Thirty two male rats 2,5 months old and weight 150-200 gram were divided into four groups, twenty four white male rats have been prepared with bile duct ligation. Control group (P0) only done laparotomi, P1 group done bile duct ligation with applied sodium CMC Na 0,3%, P2 group done bile duct ligation with applied pure ellagic acid and sodium CMC Na 0,3%, P3 group done bile duct ligation with applied pomegranate extract and sodium CMC Na 0,3% all conduct at observation up to 21 days and we take the rat’s liver. The results of statistical analysis on liver histopathology damage show that P1 is significantly different with P0, P2, and P3 while P2 is not significantly different with P3 and P0. According this study, pomegranate extracts gives significant result to repair liver histopathology damage.
