Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the effect of various complete feeds on the digestibility value of fat and digestible fat utilization by beef cattle. The research was conducted on three female beef cattle, two years old and with the average weight of 339kg. The experimental design used was Completely Randomized Design with three treatments and seven replications. The treatments were BC0 as control feed, BC1 and BC2 as complete feeds with different compositions, and the replication was the number of times the feces was taken. Feed and fecal samples were analyzed by proximate analysis with Soxhlet method to obtain their fat percentages. Data were analyzed with Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and the mean differences among treatments were tested by Duncan's Multiple Range. The software used to analyze the data was Statistical Product and Service Solution 20 (SPSS 20). The results of this research showed that various complete feeds had different effects on the digestibility value of fat and digestible fat utilization. The feed with the highest digestibility value of fat was BC1 and the lowest was BC0. The feed with the highest utilization of digestible fat was also BC1, and the lowest was also BC0.
