Abstract

mampu menciptakan kesempatan kerja bagi masyarakat. Dengan semakin banyak orang yang bekerja maka kesejahteraan masyarakat juga akan semakin meningkat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh Produk Domestik Regional Bruto (PDRB), jumlah penduduk, Upah Minimum kabupaten/Kota (UMK) dan investasi terhadap kesempatan kerja di Jawa Timur tahun 1988-2007. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah metode Ordinary LeastSquare (OLS). Hasil perhitungan statistik terhadap model analisis yang digunakan menyimpulkan bahwa PDRB, UMK dan investasi secara parsial berpengaruh terhadap kesempatan kerja di Jawa Timur, sedangkan jumlah penduduk tidak berpengaruh siknifikan. Secara simultan PDRB, jumlah penduduk, UMK dan investasi berpengaruh siknifikan terhadap kesempatan kerja di Jawa Timur. Translation: Economical development is recently expected to be able to create employment in society. As the increase number of people who already worked, the prosperity will also be increasing. This study aims to investigate the influence of Regional Gross Domestic Product (RGDP), Population, minimum wage of the city and the investment on employment in East Java from 1988 to 2007. This study uses the method of Ordinary Least Square (OLS). The result of statistic calculation on this analysis model concludes that RGDP, minimum wage of the city and investment partially influence the employment in East Java, while the population is not significantly influence. RGDP, population, minimum wage of the city and investment simultaneously give significant influence on employment in East Java.
