Abstract

Noise is unwanted sound that can disturb human hearing. Intensity of noise in the sector of PT PJB UP Gas Turbine Gresik exceeds NAB, so that may disturb with the hearing loss of labor. The study was conducted to determine differences in hearing thresholds before and after the employee became an employee in PT PJB Gresik. The study was conducted with cross sectional design using questionnaires and interviews. Populations and samples in this study were 69 workers K3 UPHT. The independent variable was the intensity of noise, characteristics respondents(age, tenure, history of disease, habits of use APT). The results obtained is that intensity of noise in an area of about 86-97 dB Gas Turbines. There was labor experiencing hearing loss by 29% (20 people), of which 13 a deaf left ear and right light, and 2 workers were deaf right ear. By using the T test, p = 0.000 values obtained, which means p <0.05 indicates a difference in hearing threshold of right and left ear before and after exposure noise. The conclusion is that Gas Turbine noise in the sector affects the level of hearing loss of workers, and workers are expected to wear at work areas APT Gas Turbine.
