Abstract

Wastewater Rejo Agung Baru sugar factory require special attention in the effort to industrial control. The quality of wastewater produced will affect the environmental health quality around the factory. The study aimed to analyze the relationship between the quality of wastewater with the quality of the environment health around the Rejo Agung Baru sugar factory in the Madiun. This study is an descriptive observational. The population divided into environment and human populations. Environmental samples comprised of 5 sampels of water rivers and 7 samples of well water, whereas human samples were 7 respondents. Retrieval of data by collecting secondary data, observations, interviews using questionnaires, and conducted laboratory tests on samples of water rivers and water wells. The variables of this study is the sugar factory wastewater quality and environmental health quality which consists of the quality of water bodies, water quality of wells and public complaints. The result at this study showed that the sugar factory wastewater quality is in compliance with quality standards by East Java Governor Regulation No. 72 Year 2013 about wastewater quality standards for Industry and / or other business activities in the East Java. The quality of the water river before and after flowing wastewater, there are some parameters have not been in accordance with the quality standards based on the East Java Regional Regulation No. 2 of 2008 about Water Quality Management and Water Pollution Control in the East Java that is parameters BOD5 and temperature. Well water quality parameters are not appropriate quality standards based on Permenkes No: 416/Menkes/PER/IX/1990 about the Terms and Water Quality Monitoring is an organic substance. In this study, all respondents had complaints of odor from waste water streams, one respondent had complaints of odor in well water and no health complaints over the use of well water. The conclusion of this research is the quality of wastewater affects health environmental quality, but the quality of environmental health is also affected by the trash, agricultural waste, a distance of toilet and other pollutants.
