Abstract

The government gave serious attention and efforts to regulate the dangers of cigarette smoke through smoking area policy The purposes of this research was to acknowledge implementation of no-smoking area policy at dr. Mohamad Soewandhie hospital Surabaya. The research done by the cross sectional using the descriptive quantitative. Respondents are 125 consisting of 90 people will not smoke; smoked 35 personnel policy of no smoking area.Data using a questionnaire furnished with an interview.A variable that investigated in these studies are communication resources, an attitude of policies and to the society factors. The result showed that the communication occurs to run the smoking area without good enough.The staff to carry out the policy of no smoking area is inadequate and there is not a task executor special and there is no particular qualification for the enforcement officers policies the information that we have to run the implementation of the policy of the cigarettes is good enough, the power possessed enforcement officers policy is simply admonish people smoking in the hospital infrastructure is to run the by-law no smoking area are - a warning sign or smoking, there was no budget specifically to carry out the policy.An attitude of regional policies without cigarettes are quite right.Participation of citizens to participate in a regional policies without cigarettes are quite right. Conclusion The implementation of the smoke free area policy have not done optimally and smoke free area policy goals have not been accomplished.The study suggested more intensive communication and resources, monitoring team was formed, development in order to improve the monitoring and evaluate program.
