Abstract

Infant mortality is one of the important indicators in determining the level of health and used as a success indicator of the health development in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the causes of death and the risk factors in Ngada Public Health Center (PHC). This study was conducted with a non-reactive design that is astudy for secondary data. The type of data that used were medical records which will be used as Riskesdas datain 2013. This study conducted by census block, mothers who gave birth in 2013 at Public Health Center. The sample were 210 motherswho have babies under one year old in the Ngada Public Health Center. The independent variables were low birth weight, asphyxia, maternal age, parity, birth range, education level, family income, birth attendants, and Tetanus Toxoid Immunization. While the dependent variable was infant mortality. The study results showed that the results of multiple logistic regression statistical test, significant variables were low birth weight variables with p=0.009 (B)=0.186, parity p=0.041 (B)=8.150, birth attendants p=0.014 (B)=(2,036), and Tetanus Toxoid Immunization p=0.007 (B)=4.505. Whereas, the variable that shows no effectwere asphyxia, maternal age, birth spacing, education level, and income. The conclusions of the study was the dominant factor that led to the death of a baby wereinfant factor (LBW) and health service factors (birth attendants).
