Abstract
Diet management is the one way to control blood sugar levels for patients with diabetes mellitus. The obedience of diet program in patient with diabetes mellitus is necessary so blood sugar levels stay under control. Patient’s food leftover is one of the manifestation of disobedience to the diet program that have been recommended by health workers. The main aim of this research was to analyze the influence between the patient, the environment and the nutrition with the obedience of diet inpatient with Diabetes Mellitus (DM) in dr. M. Soewandhie Surabaya General Hospital. This was an observasional analytic research with cross sectional approach. Respondent of this research were 32 inpatients in RSUD dr. M. Soewandhi Surabaya. Determining of the sample used systematic random sampling. Data were collected by interview and questionnaire. Data were analyze with regression linear, comparation Kruskal Wallis test and Mann-Whitney test. Statistical tests showed that there is influence on health worker’s support (ρ=0,000; Β=-6,621), menu variation (ρ=0,001; Β=-14,437) and food equipment (ρ=0,004; Β=-6,462). The variables of age, gender, long-suffering, compication disease, knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, understanding of instructions, family support, food from outside, the quality of interaction, portion, flavor, appearance and food safety not influence statistically. There is the influence health worker’s support, varied menu and food equipment to compliance patients with diabetes mellitus diet in dr. M. Soewandhie Surabaya. Possitive support from the health worker can increase the obedience level.
