Abstract

Documentationof nursing care is one of the performance measures and a testament to the responsibility and accountability. Based on the data obtained that the completeness of the documentation of nursing care in RSUD Ibnu Sina Kabupaten Gresik less optimal which may be due to nurse obedience. The purpose of this study is to identify the internal and external variables that affect nurse obedience based on the Milgram’s theory and identify the variebel relations with nurse obedience. The study was conducted by a cross sectional design using a quantitative approach. Data collected in 12 nursing teams of RSUD Ibnu Sina Kabupaten Gresik by questioner. Research subjects drawn from a population with a total sampling. The independent variables are the nurse responsibility, the status of the location, the legitimacy of authority figures, the status of authority figures, peer support, closeness of authority figures and the dependent variable of the study was nurse obedience. The result of this study was nurses have good responsibility (83.33%), nurses have a good assessment of status location(83.33%), good legitimacy of authority figures(58.30%), status of authority figure(58.33%), good peer support(75.00%), fair proximity ofauthority figures(66.67%). Documenting compliance in nursing care is in fair category (58.33%). The conclusion that can be drawn that the nurses in documenting compliance with nursing care can be improved by increasing the legitimacy of authority figure, increase regular meetings superiors and nurses, give each other positive support among fellow colleagues, competitions and giving awards for the best nursing care documentation, and build a better form of nursing care to ease fulfilment.
