Abstract
This study is aimed to reveal in what ways certain images of corruption in Clekit editorial cartoon of Jawa Pos Newspaper are represented and to reveal how to use the ideology delivered. In analyzing the image of corruption, the data analyzed the Barthean semiotics. The analysis is divided into four divisions, linguistic messages, non coded iconic messages, coded iconic messages, and complex meaning and myths. The findings show that the cartoons present satirical images of corruption practice in this country. The cartoons in Clekit mostly present the readers many ironical facts in political area to motivate them to be more aware of such lameness of sociopolitical condition. The readers are expected to be able to learn from them and thus they become more critical towards the government along with their policies and conducts
