Abstract
This study is aimed at finding out the particular procedures and the most frequently procedure applied in the translation of the metaphors in J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. In collecting the data, the writer looks for metaphors in J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix as the source text. After getting the source text, the writer makes the list of the data. Meanwhile in analyzing the data, the writer classifies the data based on the procedures applied in the translation. After getting the classification. the writer analyzes each procedure. Finally, she interprets the result of the analysis. The result shows that the particular procedures applied are Reproducing the same image in the TL; Replacing the image in the SL with a standard TL image; Translation of metaphor by simile plus sense and Conversion of metaphor to sense.
