Abstract

This research is trying to know how the image of anarchism of the main character depicted in this comic and how the ideology is delivered within the images of anarchism. The data will be analyzed with Barthean Semiotics. The analysis will be divided into four parts, linguistic messages, non-coded iconic messages, coded iconic messages, and complex meaning and myth. The findings show that the graphic novel presents the ideologies behind the anarchism which is conducted by the main character is to reach his goal to take his vengeance to the person who makes him suffer and the second, is to liberate the whole colony realized that during the time, all of the people are being trapped with the rule and the tyranny of the government. The use of anarchy grounded on his past and anarchism is the only ways to make the people of the colony realize that they have been colonized by the government for a long time. The image in V for Vendetta mostly presents the readers many ironical facts in political area to motivate them to be more aware of such lameness of sociopolitical condition. The readers are expected to be able to learn from them and thus they become more critical towards the government along with their policies and conducts.
