Abstract
Struggle for life is something that mankind has been doing forever. It is also an issue that carried out in We Won’t Pay! We Won’t Pay! drama by Dario Fo. This research intends to find how the formal elements of characterization and plot support the theme that struggle for life pushes people’s wits beyond their boundaries. The theory that will be used in this research is New Criticism. This research finds that the formal elements of the text support the theme by revealing the strong characterization that the character has and the plot which forms the condition for the characters.
