Abstract
This study focuses on the Microstructure Strategy in bulletin da’wah Al – Islam by Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI). The aim of this study is to find the microstructure strategy that is used by HTI in the texts to enhance the process of othering. The corpus of this study is taken from the official website of Al – Islam from HTI. The samples of the analysis are four articles which occurred on August 12, 2006, August 1, 2007, November 8, 2007 and December 11, 2007. All of these articles are analyzed critically by using the microstructure of the articles. The analysis on the articles under study reveals that in discussing the caliphate state, the journalist of Al – Islam certainly takes side. In the articles, it can be seen that the journalist tries to show the Islamic ideology by using spscific words and placing the sentences in the appropriate position so it could create the new meanings to the reader. The result of the study is that there are some strategies used by Al – Islam journalist in reporting the caliphate issue that are considered as the microstructure, such as the use of syntactic style, lexical style and rhetoric. Those features seem to have the correlation with the ideological concept from Van Dijk because HTI by using their media try to control the reader’s mind and also HTI try to prove the importance of building the caliphate in the world. In their media, Al – Islam, HTI use many words that reflect HTI as a good side and the West or the Western world as a bad side and as the Muslim’s enemy so it is better for the Muslim to fight against the West.
