Abstract

This study is conducted to see how Kaskusers construct the issue of pornography in the case of Ariel sex videos through the use of discourse elements. By examining the case, this study is aimed to see how the issue of pornography is presented in internet media communication. Corpus of this study was taken from Lounge forum in kaskus.us. Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) proposed by Teun van Dijk commonly known as socio cognitive approach is used as analytical tool. However, the concept of pornography in Indonesia is also put in order to give more analysis and understanding of the problem. By applying socio-cognitive approach, the data is analyzed based on three levels of text which are macrostructure level, superstructure level and microstructure level. Analysis in the level of text is important to determine and emphasize how discourse elements play a role and are used as discourse strategies in delivering power/ideology. The different point of views in responding artist sex videos lead the discourse of pornography in kaskus.us to pros and contras. However, the discussion is also related to other issues like religion, law and norms. It is similar with the debatable pornography in society related to other issues. Therefore, the controversy of pornography is still based on the issue of morality. Thus, the construction of pornography in kaskus fitly reflects the concept of pornography in society.
