Abstract

This study proposed to formulate recommendations attendant development of communication strategies in increasing the consistent use of condoms in an effort to reduce the number of STIs in Puskesmas Sememi. The design of this research is observational analytic research design using a cross sectional study design. Sample and research respondents were 51 people. Which consists of high-risk populations and Sememi health worker who met the inclusion criteria. Identification of communication strategies that have been made sub-district health officer Sememi, through in-depth interviews. Researches the process of communication (communicators, messaging, media and communicant) and communication effects consistent use of condoms. Sememi Puskesmas health worker and his communication skills were good, medium and high credibility, attractiveness is less officers, common language and gender influence. The message is incomplete. The clerk never take advantage of social media. The ability to communicate high-risk populations are mostly good. Knowledge of high-risk populations is high and the attitude of a large part of high-risk population is very supportive. Based on statistical test factors having an effect on the consistency of condom use high-risk population is the appeal of the officer, the message delivered officers, common language and gender as well as the attitude of high-risk populations. Suggestions put forward is to utilize social media as a means of communicating with the high-risk population. Make check the identification of anyone who mepengaruhi views and their opinion to not use condoms TOR clerk communication strategy that includes measures of communication strategy officer before making communication training in condom negotiation on personnel and high-risk populations. Pursuing a strategy to combat HIV and AIDS through gender approach. Forming a team of surveillance and enforcement of Surabaya City Regulation No. 4 of 2013 concerning about HIV and AIDS in the city of Surabaya is integrated with other SKPD.
