Abstract
Streptococcus agalactiae is one of pathogenic bacteria can cause subclinical mastitis. The use of antibiotics to treat bacterial infections, it faced problems recently, i.e. bacterial resistance against antibiotics. Antibiotic resistance is not effective use of antibiotics used for certain types of bacteria. In this study explains about sensitivity antibiotic resistance of Streptococcus agalactiae isolated from fresh milk in Surabaya and its sorrunding areas. There are 176 samples of milk there were identification by CAMP test and got 20 sampels were positif by Streptococcus agalactiae. These isolates were tested for antibiotic Erythromycin, Ampicilin, Penicillin, Tetracycline resistance by the diffuse disc method. The result of a sensitivity test on antibiotic resistance obtained in Erythromycin resistant 0%, 5% intermediate, 95% sensitive. Ampicilin: 60% resistant, 25% intermediate, and 15% sensitive. Penicillin: 70% resistant and 30% sensitive. Tetracycline: 35% of resistant, 45% intermediate, and 35% sensitive. This shows that the use of the antibiotic Erythromycin is still used in the area of Surabaya and sorrounding areas.
