Abstract
This research is investigating the comparison of knowledge level on adolescent that is given information by using discussion and speech methods through counseling information center of adolescent (PIK-R) about the health of reproduction at junior high school, Ambulu. The design in this research is quasi- eksperimental which is done on May-August 2015. The sample is taken from total sampling for out 157 students. Here, the data are collected by using questionnaire. The result of the data analysis which is used Mann Withney test shows a significant differences with test result 0,000 < ɑ = 0,05 on both Kartika IV-6 and Islamic junior high school before and after giving information. However, the result of the data analysis shows difference. The result of Wilcoxson test before giving information is (0,170) by using speech and discussion method. It means there is no different knowledge level before giving information. Finally, after giving infomation with different method, it shows the significant result 0,000 < ɑ = 0,05. It is meaningful that there is a significant differences on knowledge level after giving an information by using different method where discussion method more effective rather than speech method. Therefore, the conclusion of this research, PIKR activity is a good program to increase and to develop students’ knowledge about information on health of reproduction, especially using discussion method.
