Abstract
Dewasa ini, secara langsung atau tidak langsung pengetahuan dan informasi tentang informasi seks sangat diperlukan oleh masing-masing individu. Hal itu dikarenakan perkembangan global yang sangat pesat menyebabkan meningkatnya kebutuhan informasi dari berbagai aspek, salah satunya kebutuhan informasi tentang informasi seks. Tidak hanya untuk individu dewasa, remaja pun kini juga membutuhkan informasi tentang informasi seks. Pentingnya informasi seks tersebut bagi remaja sayangnya tidak didukung dengan keadaan sosial yang melegalkan informasi tersebut dikonsumsi oleh remaja. Banyak kelompok atau individu yang masih menganggap bahwa informasi seks itu masih tabu untuk diberikan pada remaja. Tetapi tidak bias dipungkiri sebenarnya remaja telah mengetahui tentang informasi seks walaupun masih dianggap tabo oleh lingkungannya. Internet menjadi media yang kuat digunakan remaja dalam memenuhi kebutuhan informasi seks. Dari penelitian pada remaja siswa-siswi SMA Negeri 21 Surabaya ini ditemukan bahwa remaja memiliki motif-motif untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pribadinya berupa informasi seks.
