Abstract
Anemia in pregnant women impacts the amount of maternal mortality and morbidity, increase the amount of fetal death and low birthweight. The ai med of this study was to determine relationship between nutritional status and anemia in pregnant women in Poli KIA Puskesmas Kebong Kabupaten Sintang Kalimantan Barat. Design used in th is s tudy was c ross s ectional w ith pur posive s ampling technique. There were 3 2 respondents include i n t his research. The independent variable was nutritional status. T he d ependent v ariable w as anemia. N utritional status w ere m easured b y observation s heet. A nemia s tatus w as m easured using digital hemoglobinometer. Data were analyzed using statistical test Chi-Square. The result showed that the nutritional status variables according ideal body weight of p regnant w omen with a nemia obt ained p = 0.035 w hich m eans t hat there i s a r elationship of nut ritional s tatus a coording i deal bod y w eight of pregnant with a nemia, and n utritional s tatus v ariables a ccording upper a rm circumference with a nemia obt ained p = 0.014 w hich m eans t hat t here i s a relationship of nutritional status according upper arm circumference with anemia. Anemia may o ccur in pregnant women therefore all pregnant women are advised to maintain nutritional status in order to have reserves of iron to meet the needs of the body and the fetus so that the mother can avoid anemia in pregnancy.
