In conversation during interrogation, the sentences which contain implied message (implicature) often used by the speaker and the opposite, and follow by various presupposition. The emerge of implicature and presupposition are closely related to interrogative sentences and the aspect of speech act which uttered by the speaker. This study attempts to analyze what kind of interrogation strategy often used by detectives and polices. This pragmatic study applies qualitative descriptive research method approach. In analyzing the data, the writer used Searles’s theory of illocutionary acts, Yule’s theory of presupposition, Grice’s theory of implicature, and Imai’s theory of interrogative sentence. The finding of this study resulted there are 41 interrogation data which classified into 11 types of interrogation strategies include; assertive-existential, assertive-structural, directive-structural, assertive-lexical, assertive-factive, directive-existential, assertive-non factive, directive-factive, expressive-existential, expressive-lexical, and expressive-structural. Furthermore, this study shows that assertives-existential strategy is often used than the others because it is more effective to trace the perpetrator.
