Abstract

Psoriasis is a multifactorial disease that is caused by the interaction of genetic susceptibility to various environmental factors that until now the exact of genetic susceptibility has not been unclear. HCR gene is related as the genetic factors underlying individual or population susceptibility to psoriasis. The aims of this research is to know the relationships of Polymorphism Exon 2 Gene Alpha-Helix Coiled Coil Rod Homologue as genetic susceptibility factors to Psoriasis. Results: The results research PCR Amplicon formed 304 bp, using version 7.0.9 biowin to make multiple alignment of DNA sequences. From the results of HCR gene sequencing exon 2, in five polymorphic nucleotide sites 249, 251, 269, 421, 436, there is polymorphism in C251T, C269T and G436C with 2 psoriasis (8.3%), while in control case there is not 3 polymorphisms. In addition there is a polymorphism at C421T and G436C in one psoriasis patient (4.1%), whereas the two controls (6.5%). Nucleotide polymorphism G436C occurred in 9 (37.5%) psoriasis patients and 15 (48.4 %) on the control, the frequency of polymorphisms in both groups was not significant (p> 0.05). The conclusion of this study is the polymorphism exon 2 Alpha-Helix Coiled Coil Rod Homologue gene are not susceptible gene for psoriasis Malay Race in Palembang, this is because of the different geographic areas will give a difference frequency of polymorphic sites.
