Abstract

To improve human (honest, responsible, and commitment) and social (trust, reciprocity and shared norms) capitals, compliance, and medical record quality, knowledge management using knowledge spiral method should be applied in hospitals. The objective of this study was to analyze the effect of knowledge spiral on human and social capital to increase compliance and medical record quality at Pambalah Batung Regional Hospital. This was a research operational study. Analysis unit was Medical Record Team (doctors, nurses, and medical recorders). Instruments used in this study were questionnaire, field notes, and check-list. Data were analyzed using Path Analysis. Results showed an increase of values in knowledge spiral, human capital, social capital, compliance, and medical record quality after the application of knowledge management using knowledge spiral method. Path Analysis test revealed direct and indirect effect of knowledge spiral on compliance and medical record quality through human and social capital. In conclusion, knowledge spiral can increase human and social capital as well as improve compliance and medical record quality by improving human and social capital at the first place.
