Abstract

Cooperative is an activity which is expected to be foundation of Indonesian economy as stated in the 1945 constitution. There were efforts to develop the work motivation in the multipurpose cooperative, which were held either by the government or practitioner. In this case, the government policy of presidential instruction. Furthermore, some expert and observed the cooperative with the aim give an input in order to increase and possess competitive effort with another business activity. However, up to present time, some ways to achieve it is not realized maximally. Based on the empirical observation study done at the multipurpose cooperativers in East Kalimantan Province, it could be conluded that: 1. Member Participation has positive significant influence on manager work; 2. Entrepreneurship character has positive significant influence on manager work motivation; 3. Government’s role has positive significant influence on manager work motivation; 4. Member Participation has positive significant influence on cooperative perpormance; 5. Entrepreneurship character has positive significant influence on cooperativce performance; 6. Government’s role has insingnificant influence on cooperative performance; 7. Work motivation has positive significant influence on cooperative performance. The result of this study can be conluded, that the governemtn’s role, especially to financial aim and loan facilities to multi purpose cooperative in east Kalimantan Province must be done by applying selective and strict requirement.
