Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the effects of Islamic values on work motivation and decision at risk as well as work quality of contractors in West Sulawesi Province. This study uses an exogenous variable that is Islamic values, and endogenous variable consisting of work motivation, decision at risk and work quality. This is a study of individual Muslim contractor in West Sulawesi Province, with the population number of 267 persons divided into 4 strata / qualifications, determined by using “stratified proportional random sampling”method, consisting of 160 Muslim contractors. The quantitative data analysis uses Partial Least Square Path Modeling (PLS-PM) based on variance or commonly called based component, while that of the quantitative uses qualitative combined with intuitive (kasyf) analysis. The results show that Islamic values have significantly positive effect on work motivation; Islamic values have significantly positive effect on decision at risk; work motivation have significantly positive effect on decicion at risk. In addition, work motivation has significantly positive effect on work quality; and decision at risk has positive effect on work quality. The policy contributions of the results of this research “the effects of Islamic values on work motivation and decision at risk as well as work quality”are as follows: to socialize Islamic value implementation in chartering/contractors; to make a model of construction based on syar’ie (proper packet test);to standardize construction implementation with Islamic base. Referring to the proofs, quantitatively, qualitatively, and intuitively /kasyf, it can be drawn integratively that Islamic values effects on work motivation and decision risk as well as work quality of Muslim contractors in West Sulawesi Province, in general, have understood the implementation of Al Quran and as- Sunnah on the work quality of Muslim contractors, but their attitudes have not been highly based on Islamic values or they have not practiced the values well (kaffah).
