Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh sosial ekonomi terhadap kriminalitas di Sumatera Utara tahun 2009-2013. Variabel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah jumlah tindak pidana sebagai variabel terikat, sedangkan untuk variabel bebas terdiri dari kepadatan penduduk, tingkat kemiskinan, tingkat pengangguran terbuka, rata-rata lama sekolah dan PDRB perkapita. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah regresi data panel dengan pendekatan Fixed Effect. Hasil analisis menyimpulkan bahwa secara simultan variabel bebas signifikan mempengaruhi variabel terikat. Secara parsial variabel kepadatan penduduk, tingkat pengangguran terbuka, rata-rata lama sekolah dan PDRB perkapita signifikan mempengaruhi tingkat kriminalitas, sedangkan variabel tingkat kemiskinan tidak berpengaruh terhadap tingkat kriminalitas di Sumatera Utara tahun 2009-2013.
