Abstract

This study aimed to explore and discuss the scientific description about the motivation of bunda Pos PAUD Terpadu (PPT), the factors that affect it, and the dynamics both of them. PPT is a community based educational programme, initiated by PKK Surabaya, which is similar with play group programmes and integrated with Pos Pelayanan Terpadu (Posyandu) and Bina Keluarga Balita (BKB). This is a social activity programme, but bunda has a great enthusiasm although they don't get any payment from it. Researcher used a qualitative approach with phenomenological model. There were 14 person involved purposively, based on the 3 roles (as bunda pendamping, bunda pengelola, dan bunda paguyuban). Data was collected by focus group discussion and depth interview. The collected data was analyzed thematically with an inductive model and coding processes. The results showed that the motivation of bunda PPT in Surabaya do not form spontaneously, but through a dynamic process, involving the interaction between internal and external factors (both positive and negative). Internal factors consist of personality, learning, organizational, and financial aspects, meanwhile external factors consist of family, stakeholders, and financial aspects. The results could be used as an input for the stakeholders in arranging community-based educational programme
