Abstract
This Research comes from a tension in the victims of violence againts women when they are relaying private information to their family members. Violence is the phenomenon that increased, but often regarded as disgrace or things deeply private for individuals, especially domestic violence. The phenomenon then formulated as a problem of research that is how women to communicate their private information to his family about violence experienced. Researcher used literature review related to Self Concept, Interpersonal Communication in the family, Relational Dialectics, Communication Privacy Management Theory, and violence as Private Information. This research is a Qualitative research that uses case study method and descriptive research type. The Unit of analysis in this study are individuals who become informants, which conducted in-depth interviews to obtain qualitative narratives to be analyzed. Result of this research showed that at first all the victims of violence try to hide about violence experienced especially to his family. Private disclosure to their family done after violence impact is known directly by their family. Both of the victim of domestic violence or in personal relation conveying private information about violenced experienced consider the ratio risk factors and profit. In addition to gender and culture factors in domestic violence. Communication Motivation (Motivation to hide the information because others considered has no interest), Maintenance Motivation (self composure and avoidance conflictmotivation), Social Validation, (Motivation to gain support/assistance), became an influential factor in the process of concealment and disclosure of private information. Various dialectics or contradiction and tension in private communication transmission is strongly influenced by women victims of violence’s self-concept.
