Abstract

Technology development and rapid industrialization demands a better ability, that sometimes exceed the capabilities of most employees. The essential thing is the lack of employee satisfaction on the job description. Job satisfaction declined from an employee will affect motivation in work, increased absenteeism, and often the employee eventually resigned from the company. Redesign job characteristics, which includes the expansion of employment and job enrichment are expected to increase employee job satisfaction. Research conducted at the Department of Financial and Accounting PT. Sutindo Raya Mulia, using using descriptive qualitative research method. Source data is all employees who are in finance and accounting department, as many 15 people. This study aims to describe redesign job characteristics in order to increase employee job satisfaction. Redesigned are based by comparing the job characteristics in description of duties and responsibilities with job characteristics that are expected of employees. The result this study showed that including redesign job characteristics, most employees are given opportunity to work on task that varied, so that work is not boring thing. For some employees were given the opportunity to take a decision on a job that becomes their responsibility. In addition, the IPP program (Indeks Penilaian Prestasi), which is used as a means to provide feedback on performance.
