Abstract

AFB (+) Lung TB, a disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, is a prevalent public-health issue. The number of AFB (+) Lung TB patients in West Nusa Tenggara Province Mataram Regency in 2009 is 280 (two-hundred eighty) with a case prevalence rate of 0.079%, a Case Detection Rate (CDR) of 68.72%, and a recovery rate of 87%. Analyze the 2010 West Nusa Tenggara Province Mataram Regency AFB (+) Lung TB patient household contact transmission risk factors. Cross-Sectional Analytical-Observation on 135 respondents. Data is collected via measurements, examinations, and questionnaires and analyzed via Logistic-Regression-Test. Double-Regression-Test Multivariate-Analysis reveal 4 (four) model-fitting variables: household humidity (OR: 4.890; p = 0.033), smoking habit (OR: 3.881; p = 0.040), AFB (+) Lung TB patient acuteness (OR: 9.963; p = 0.001), and nutritional-status (OR: 10.947; p = 0.000). Independent variables influence on AFB (+) Lung TB patient household contact transmission risk is predicted to be 81.6%. AFB (+) Lung TB prevention should not only rest on DOTS strategy compliant medication but also must incorporate risk factor interventions as preventative measures, counseling and promotion intensity, and treatment services improvements.
