Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine how meanings are communicated within the meaning of the book cover caricature "Konspirasi SBYBakrie" in the description of a political conspiracy. Used is a semiotic methodology of Charles Sanders Pierce divide between sign and referent into three categories: icons, indexes and symbols. The results obtained indicates that message to be conveyed through the depiction is a political conspiracy which involves the country's leaders and the political elite Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) is known as the leader of the country, political conspiracy allegedly involved the case of Lapindo mud flood with Abu Rizal Bakrie (Bakrie).
