Abstract

Children under-five coverage (D/S) in Surabaya was 76,02% under the national target 80% on 2013. So it was needed efforts to increase D/S by analyzing children under-five and cadre empowerment factors. The objective of this study was to increase D/S based on analysis of children under-five and cadre empowerment factors. This was observational research with cross sectional approach done on May 2014. There were 4 Madya and 4 Purnama�s Posyandu, respectively located at Banyu Urip, Putat Jaya, Kalirungkut, and Gunung Anyar�s Village Health Care (VHC). The respondents were 8 cadre and 96 children under-five�s mother from each Posyandu. Data was collected using questionnaire and document, analyzed using Coefficient Contingency, Spearman, Pearson Correlation and coefficient correlation. The results showed correlations between cadre training and type of Posyandu (0,001), cadre training with trust (0,015), cadre�s job with cadre�s Posyandu attendant (0,002). There were correlations between status of children under-five caretaker, mother�s education, mother�s job, caretaker�s satisfaction, with children under-five�s attendant (0,042; 0,000; 0,042; 0,000). then capacity with cadre attendant (0,046). There was correlations between type of Posyandu with cadre attendant (0,024). We can conclude that trust and type of Posyandu is just associated with cadre training. Cadre attendants are associated with cadre�s job. And children under-five�s attendants are associated with status of children under-five caretaker, mother�s education, mother�s job, and caretaker�s satisfaction. Capacity with cadre attendant is associated, and also type of Posyandu with cadre attendant.
