Abstract

High risk for workplace accidents on the labor contractor is mainly due to the recruitment of workers who lack knowledge of health and safety as well as high-risk job placement. Workplace accidents that occur can damage both material and non-material aspects. Workplace accidents is also experienced by the labor contractor PT. X which is a palm oil processing company. To analyze the number of accidents and the factors that affect the workplace accident, the research is conducted on the labor contractor PT. X during the years of 2013 to 2015. The collection of primary data is obtained from interviews and observation on workplace while the secondary data is obtained from reports of workplace accidents. Data analysis method used in this research is descriptive method. The results of the research show that the total occurred accidents in PT. X is 134 with a distribution respectively 65, 28, and 41 in 2013, 2014 and 2015. The highest incidence and frequency accident rate are occurred in 2013 amounted to 2.79 and 12.35. The accident severity rate is 3423.46 occurred in 2013 with three deaths. The factors affecting workplace accidents are around 21-30 years of age and male gender. Types of accidents are often exposed to objects except falling objects on hot work due to unsafe behavior. The result of workplace accidents is a provision of first aid in wounds located on the fingers. Time of the occurred accident is almost evenly before or after the break. Precautions to work accidents at power PT. X contractors can be done by using a full-body harness double hook and lifeline installation for work at height as a result of three fatal accidents due to the altitude. The incident notification form must be updated by adding element of education level, length of employment and training history. The purchase and use of personal protective equipment should be adjusted to the job.
