Abstract

This research is aimed to find a number of factors that influence the capital structure of manufacturing companies registered at the Stock Exchange of Indonesia. The population of the research covers manufacturing companies having already undertaken go public at the Stock Exchange of Indonesia from 2004 to 2008. By using purposive sampling, it was found as many as 100 manufacturing companies used as samples. The analysis of Double-Linear Regression model was used in this research. To find the influence of each independent variable comprising the active structure, profitability, and operational leverage toward the dependent variables respectively the capital structure, the partial regression test (t-test) was used. On the other hand, to find the simultaneous influence of independent variables toward the dependent variables, the simultaneously regression test (F-test) was used. The research result reveals that the active structure has significantly positive influence toward the capital structure, but profitability has significantly negative influence toward the capital structure. Furthermore, the operational leverage also has no significant influence toward the capital structure.
