Abstract

Dari percobaan yang telah di1akukan ternyata profi1 kandungan steroid pada ka1us Agave amaniensis dan ka1us Diosoorea pentaphylla tidak dipengaruhi oleh perlakuan media yang dicoba. Ka1us Diosoorea pentaphylla ternyata hanya mampu me1akukan biosintesis sampai tahap sterol saja sedangkan kalus Agave amaniensis mampu melakukan biosintesis sampai sapogenin steroid. Tergantung pada per1akuan media, kandungan sterol pada kedua kultur kalus dapat relatip berbeda satu terhadap yang lain. Untuk mendapatkan informasi yang lebih rinci tentang biosintesis steroid perlu dilakuakn penelitian lebih lanjut.
